    • An Ounce of Prevention: PRS Conference – January 12-13, 2018

      To be eligible to attend this conference, participants must be in year one to five of their career as educators. Selection criteria will take into consideration designated groups, geographical location and diversity of ETFO locals (T/OT/DECE/ESP/PSP).

    • …and still we rise conference – February 21-23, 2018

      The registration for ETFO’s annual …and still we rise conference is now open. This women’s leadership conference will take place from Wednesday, February 21 (evening) to Friday, February 23, 2018.

      The focus of this conference is women’s leadership in the union. There will be workshops on the following topics: collective bargaining; equity and social justice; communications; activism; community building; creating zines; labour music and leadership training I and II.

      Over 400 women members will come together at the Fairmont Royal York Hotel in Toronto for sisterhood and solidarity. Join us!

    • ETFO’s Financial Health and Wealth Conference 2018 – January 26-27, 2018

      ETFO’s Financial Health and Wealth Conference is designed to provide members with an opportunity to increase their financial literacy and learn about proactive strategies to address their financial fitness. This year’s conference will feature a dynamic presentation by personal finance expert, TV host and author of Moolala, Bruce Sellery, as well as many practical workshops based on topics such as budgeting, managing debt and pension.

    • Visions Program 2018 – January 23-24, 2018

      The Visions Program 2018 is a leadership program for women in their first five years of ETFO membership. The program highlights union renewal and will focus on building participants’ knowledge of ETFO, the broader labour movement, and opportunities for activism.

    • Math That Matters for Occasional Teachers Institute 2018 – January 30-31, 2018

      This two-day math institute will provide opportunities for daily and long-term occasional teachers to deepen their mathematical knowledge while exploring various instructional strategies, tools and resources. Institute participants will network and collaborate with other occasional teachers while building a repertoire of classroom-ready math strategies and learning activities.

    • Building and Strengthening Partnerships in the Kindergarten Program – February 2-3, 2018

      This Profession Relations Services (PRS) conference is open to Teacher and Designated Early Childhood Educator (DECE) members in their first five years currently working in the full day Kindergarten Program. The conference will focus on enriching relationships, communication with parents and use of technology in the Kindergarten Program.

  • Woman Abuse Affects Our Children Workshop – February 1-2, 2018

    Equity and Women’s Services (EWS) is offering a two-day training opportunity for ETFO women members interested in: •Developing skills to help identify and work with children exposed to woman abuse, and •Sharing your knowledge with your colleagues. This workshop is open to women members of ETFO locals in Hamilton-Wentworth, Grand Erie, Niagara, Waterloo, Halton and Upper Grand Regions.
